With any language, its vocabulary is believed to play an important role in the communication by means of that given language, either orally or in writing. Hence, what communicatively matters is how fast a speaker or writer of that language can recall suitable vocabulary items needed for a given piece of communication. In other words, lexical accessibility is as important as the size of the lexical stock that a language user has. This research paper is aimed to [1] basically depict how important vocabulary accessibility (VA) is; [2] present what factors really affect vocabulary accessibility; and [3] describe how timer-based activities (abbreviated to TBV) can improve EFL learners’ performance of vocabulary accessibility.
