Tài liệu A brief summary of most popular English teaching methodologies with an emphasis on lexical syllabus approach(Giao thông vận tải, 2023) Nguyen Thi My ChauTeaching and learning English has always been a major concern in many countries as this language prevails in the international arena and is considered one of the most popular languages promoting cultural exchange and economic integration in general. Like in many parts of the world, the English language in Vietnam is one of the most important foreign languages that can help the nation form a connection with and reach out to the rest of the business world. The confirmed indispensable role of this language has reinforced the necessity and importance of updating methods of teaching English as a second language. This article summarizes most popular English teaching methods, emphasizing the Lexical Syllabus methodology. The general discussion points are presented in brief so that teachers can overview the methods they have used, draw some valuable conclusions based on these comparisons, and eventually consider applying the Lexical Syllabus approach in their teaching. For those teachers who have already familiarized themselves with this method, more frequent and/or more effective adoption to optimize classroom study atmosphere and learning results will be the key.Tài liệu An Overview of Task-based Language Teaching(Giao thông vận tải, 2023) Tran Kim HienTask-based language teaching (TBLT) has been largely applied in many educational settings thanks to its effectiveness in maximizing students’ language competency. The term “task-based” is now more popular to most English teachers and attracts their attention in creating interesting and meaningful lessons for their students. This paper aims at presenting the background of task-based approach, giving definitions of learning tasks and describing various types of tasks used in the classroom such as listing, ordering and sorting, comparing, problem solving, sharing personal experiences and creative tasks. In addition, a TBLT framework including pre task, task cycle and language focus are carefully presented to provide some guidance on teaching and learning procedure. Also, it can involve conversations with users in the most natural way in comparison with other chatbots. In this article, the story of GPT-3, Chat GPT, and their establisher (Open AI) will be briefly crafted. Some extensive literature reviews and conducted experiments with this artificial intelligence (AI) software, especially in terms of educational perspectives are also clarified in this paper. In this research, we would like to have a further review about these controversial researches of code switching in order to prepare the theoretical base for our research on using code-switching between English and Vietnamese in teaching and learning English in University of Transport Ho-Chi-Minh City. The existence and origin of euphemisms seem to be universal. However, each language community has its own way of thinking based on different social - cultural environment [6]. This brings to euphemisms in each language a different semantic environment. In actual communication, the participants in communication are more or less faced with situations where they cannot directly say something, or if speaking directly, it will make the listeners and even the speakers feel awkward. In such cases, indirect expression is the tendency that the speaker will choose to avoid inconvenience to speakers as well as to the listeners. There are more and more English centers in the world, especially in Vietnam. A variety of courses have been designed to meet the international standards as well as the demands society in academic institutions and English language centers. However, the learners are still not completely satisfied with the courses because of unsolved problems. Pedagogy of the second language learners may struggle in speaking lessons due to different reasons. This paper, therefore, attempts to systematize practical problems and their reasons of adult learners. The cases of Vietnamese and Omani learners are described based on thepractical experience of a CELTA-certified English teacher, an observer in the higher education and a typical IELTS learner. As the result of interviews, pronunciation is the most common difficulty in speaking English which is affected mainly by the learners’ mother tongue. Most of Vietnamese learners have a similar problem which is called “vietlish language”. Bên cạnh những tác động tích cực thì mạng internet cũng ẩn chứa nhiều nguy cơ đe dọa cuộc sống của con người như khủng bố, đánh cắp dữ liệu và thông tin cá nhân; lừa đảo chiếm đoạt tài sản… Khi tần suất sử dụng mạng internet càng tăng thì các hành vi bạo lực trên không gian mạng cũng ngày một nhiều. Nhận diện vi phạm và tìm ra những giải pháp để phòng chống hành vi bạo lực trên không gian mạng là một trong những mục tiêu của các quốc gia nhằm tạo ra một môi trường an toàn, lành mạnh trên không gian mạng. Bài viết đề cập đến khái niệm bạo lực trên không gian mạng, phân tích đặc điểm của hành vi này, giới thiệu quy định pháp luật và đề xuất những giải pháp phòng chống, nhất là trong môi trường giáo dục đại học.
